Job Openings: Collections Support Coordinator

Duties:

Role Overview: This position is primarily responsible for providing support to various collection efforts, particularly concentrating on issues relating to overdrawn deposit accounts and force-placed insurance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

· (45%) Courtesy Pay Administration

o Responsible for coordinating collection efforts on deposit accounts overdrawn 15+ days

o Placing overdrafts into a Courtesy Pay Repayment Plan and working with members on repayment arrangements

o Decisioning suspension, permanent removal, or reinstatement of courtesy pay privileges based upon established criteria

· (25%) Claims Coordination

o Processing Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) placement and refunds

o Receiving, processing, and monitoring progress of the following claim types:

§ Auto insurance total loss

§ GAP

§ Credit life

§ Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI)

§ Repo Expense

o Receiving and applying credit disability payments

o Fielding, filing, and monitoring progress of Extended Warranty cancellations

· (15%) Fields and processes garnishments and levies

· (5%) Generating weekly delinquent loan notices

· (10%) Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Performance Measurements:

· Assisting in minimizing losses to the credit union via the appropriate and prompt handling of the above-identified claim types, as well as via prompt and proper attention to overdrawn deposit accounts

· Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to staff and members

· Remains keenly aware of personal, team, department, and credit union goals and is able to prioritize work to maximize the achievement of those goals

· Serves as a positive ambassador for the credit union’s brand and reputation in the marketplace and in the public

Requirements:

· Experience:

o 2+ years of financial service experience preferred

· Education:

o High School diploma or the equivalent

· Interpersonal Skills:

o Must possess the ability to communicate orally and in writing with courtesy, tact, clarity, and professionalism.

· Other Skills:

o Excellent attention to detail required

o Possesses sound math, language, and reasoning skills

o High degree of comfort with software and technological tools

o Possesses a strong desire to exceed member and CU expectations
