Get Your Credit Report For Free
An amendment to the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires each of the nationwide reporting companies to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months. The FCRA promotes accuracy and privacy of information in the files of the nation's consumer reporting companies. There are three nationwide consumer reporting companies - Equifax, Experian and Trans Union.

The three national companies have set up one central web site, toll-free number and mailing address through which you can order your free annual credit report. Do not contact the companies individually. They are only providing the free annual credit reports through the following:

We encourage you to review your credit report for accuracy since the
information is used to determine future credit as well as interest rate.
Also, due to the increase in identity theft, it's a good idea to check for
accounts that may have been opened in your name to commit fraud.
