SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
THE CLYDE HUGHLETT ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP
In keeping with the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” we would like to play a part in your journey to continue your education. In honor of one of our founding members, longtime friend and Board Member, Clyde Hughlett, Autotruck Federal Credit Union will be awarding (3) $1,000.00 scholarships. Due to the passing of our friend, Clyde Hughlett, bereavement funds are responsible for one of the $1,00.00 scholarships being awarded this year.
The purpose of the scholarships is to aid and recognize those individuals who have limited or no form of tuition or financial aid available to them. Students already accepted who definitely expect to receive full scholarships or full forms of financial aid, not contingent upon repayment, are asked not to apply.
Below is valuable information regarding this program:
1) You must be a member in good standing of Autotruck Federal Credit Union to apply.
2) The maximum scholarship for each student selected for the current school year will be $1,000.00. Only those individuals who are registered or will be registering as a full-time student at an Accredited College/University need apply. Scholarship money will be paid directly to the Accredited College/University and is to be used for tuition and books only.
3) Scholarship money received may be considered taxable income under the current IRS guidelines.
Students must complete the application form and submit the following information:
1 Official transcript with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 including SAT/ACT test results. Transcript must be initialed by a Counselor or someone within the Registrar’s Office.
2 A signed Letter of Recommendation from a high school teacher, counselor, college professor or administrator, community or church leader or any non family member.
3 Essay of 650 typed words answering the following 2 question: How do the current economic conditions affect you and your family? What Impact do you feel a college education will have on your future?
4 List of all extracurricular activities such as school activities, organizations,
church and volunteer work. Provide the name of the organization, the type
of work and the time involved in the organization.
5 Copy of the Acceptance Letter from the Accredited College/University.
6. Provide a copy/list of any assistance you will be receiving from other sources.
All Scholarship entries must have the completed application and all required documentation to Autotruck Federal Credit Union postmarked no later than July 01, 2008. APPLICANT CHECKLIST
Applicants not sending all required documentation will be disqualified. This application becomes complete and valid only when you have mailed:
-Completed Application
-Official Transcript including SAT/ACT test results
-Letter of Recommendation
-Letter of Acceptance from the College/University
-List of all Extracurricular Activities
-Typed Essay with a minimum of 650 words
-A copy or list of any assistance received from other sources
